Inner West Council replaced its ageing library with a new facility for the Council’s growing population. The library sits within a landscaped plaza in a new residential development on New Canterbury Road in the main commercial area of Dulwich Hill. The library sits behind generous glazing providing natural light and high visibility for visitors and passers-by. In addition to its fiction areas, the architecture provides for a children’s area, group study and a staff tearoom. A new staff work room was created as a space for book sorting, cataloguing and storage.
