Facing a large population increase within their Local Government Area, accelerating changes in information technology and library use patterns, Council sited their new neighbourhood library in busy New Canterbury Road. Using bold colour, the library is readily visible from the street and carefully planned access ramps lead to the interior. The library (one of eight in the Inner West Council) provides the community with a children’s area, facilities for group and individual study, internet access and a broad selection of contemporary fiction and other works. Behind the scenes, the library acts as a distribution centre for the local branch libraries.
