Campbelltown’s Arts Centre is designed to support innovative contemporary arts programs for the region’s communities. The design of the Centre embraces all forms of the visual, performing, literary and new media arts. The foyer provides the access hub for gallery exhibition spaces, the 180-seat theatre, an artist residence apartment, art workshops, gallery shop and cafe. The cafe caters for functions at the gallery with an outdoor terrace overlooking the Japanese Gardens and outdoor sculpture collection. Environmentally Sustainable Development principles guided the architecture and includes external sun protection to glazed areas, natural lighting, energy efficient equipment and stormwater capture for reuse.
