Following a comprehensive restoration program, the Brisbane City Hall was re-dedicated in 2013. Considered Queensland’s most significant heritage building, the project refurbished existing interiors, introduced new functional spaces, developed a new lighting program and provided a range of contemporary building services. Following extensive conservation work, the original building fabric of marble, mosaic tiles, silky oak joinery, bronzed coffered ceilings, decorative glazing and plasterwork recovered their original grandeur. After rectifying its structural, fire and safety deficits, City Hall is equipped for its 21st century role in the city’s civic, cultural and social events.
