Brisbane City Hall’s original architectural qualities were revitalised during comprehensive conservation and adaptation works introducing new building services to improve functional amenities and further enhancing the interior spaces. New facilities were also provided including galleries for the Museum of Brisbane at roof level and a new catering kitchen. Earlier alterations and additions were removed, clarifying the original design intent of the 1930 City Hall in providing natural lighting and ventilation. A thoughtful interior colour scheme was developed using a restricted palette of cool colours that enhanced the original fabric and form of the building.
