With a 5-star Greenstar rating an essential part of the overall building refurbishment, the new WSSH facility includes 1500m2 of meeting rooms, offices, service facilities & open plan collaborative workspaces housed within interconnecting heritage listed buildings, that form part of a mental health institution that has operated for over 120 years.
New connections created between the adjacent buildings, including the introduction of a mezzanine with a steel and timber staircase and lift. These new elements have been lined with steel to provide a contrast with the building features. The original sandstone walls have been exposed with doors and windows restored or reconstructed. Located in the Parramatta North precinct, the Western Sydney Startup Hub us designed to provide local startups a facility where they can build and grow their business.
