To improve public amenity and safety at Tamarama Beach, Waverley Council, the lifeguard staff and TKD Architects developed a brief for a lifeguard tower with unencumbered views of the sea as well as resilience to all weather conditions. Anchored firmly on a sandstone shelf, the lifeguard tower meets the highest standards of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S). The new tower is a marriage of the functions, low maintenance materials and surf beach requirements refined in the brief.
