South Head is a rich cultural landscape that forms an essential part of the story of Sydney. A story that encompasses Aboriginal culture and place; the ideas of journey and arrival of European colonisation; and more recently of protection and defence. The South Head Master Plan for NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service creates a framework to progressively deliver a series of transformative initiatives over the next 20 years to create a recreational precinct that celebrates the rich culture, heritage and natural landscapes. The master plan was published in February 2023.
