The COS Australian Flagship Store occupies the prestigious corner of Martin Place and Pitt Street in the former Commonwealth Bank of Australia building’s opulent Banking Chamber (1916). As the former Head Office of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, it is ranked as a building of national significance. The spacious street level Banking Chamber was identified for re-use as high-quality retail space while managing heritage issues. Working with the COS in-house design team, the retail space sits lightly within the interiors allowing visitors to respond to the contemporary design of COS as well as the quality materials and design of this historic bank.
