Australian Catholic University
The new 3000m² Veritas Building is a purpose- built facility that provides a new home to the substantial campus Library and the new student Learning Commons. These include a cafe, multi- purpose function / lecture space, a range of contemporary meeting and collaborative work spaces, staff offices and the AskACU central student information point. The external works include covered walkways connecting the new facility to the existing campus buildings, new bike parking and a forecourt gathering space and amphitheatre.
Sitting central within the campus, the new Learning Commons will act as a meeting and gathering point for the students and staff and will provide a new hub designed to invigorate the campus. The building design is informed by and relates to the existing significant campus buildings. This provides an ecologically sustainable and highperformance home to an integrated and technologically advanced series of contemporary education and workplace spaces. These spaces and facilities are designed to meet the advanced and continually evolving demands of current educational thought and practice while catering to the broad range and varying needs of both current and future students.
