AIA NSW Awards- Goonoo Goonoo Station

Goonoo Goonoo Station, Tamworth, has received a Commendation for Adaptive Reuse, Heritage Architecture at the AIA 2018 NSW Chapter awards. The Goonoo Goonoo Station redevelopment encompasses the adaptive re-use of a collection of buildings, once a small village, on this heritage property. The exceptional historic significance of the farm buildings, employee accommodation and site has been retained while facilitating new uses; Homestead, Manager’s Office, Inn and Shearer’s Quarters as boutique accommodation, the Butcher’s Shop as reception, Chapel and Schoolhouse accommodate weddings and memorials, the Stone Store offers a guest lounge/ small events space, the Woolstore a function venue and Glasshouse, a fine dining restaurant.

In the AIA 2017 NSW Chapter awards, The Glasshouse at Goonoo Goonoo Station was awarded the The Sir Arthur G Stephenson Award for Commercial Architecture and the Blacket Prize for Regional Architecture.
